HOW THE SALARY CLOCK WORKS
Enter your monthly salary, pick a currency, and the clock does the rest. Your pay is spread evenly across every second of the current month — salary ÷ seconds in the month — and three counters run live from there: what you have earned this year, what you have earned this month, and a clock-in stopwatch you can start, pause and reset to price any stretch of time at your own rate. Everything is computed from the real clock, to the second, and keeps running whether the tab is open or not.
WHY WATCHING IT TICK CHANGES HOW YOU THINK
A salary is an abstraction — twelve identical numbers a year on a payslip. A counter that moves while you watch is not. Seeing a cent land every few seconds makes the exchange between your time and your money concrete in a way no spreadsheet does. People use it to make sober decisions (what did that two-hour meeting pay me?), to negotiate with themselves (is this errand worth an hour of my rate?), and honestly, just because it is strangely satisfying to earn money while eating lunch. The clock counts every second of the month, including nights and weekends — because that is how monthly pay actually works, and because earning while you sleep never stops being pleasing.

Your salary never leaves your browser. There is no backend, no account and no cookie banner — inputs persist in your own browser storage, and the pause state of the stopwatch survives a refresh. It supports every ISO 4217 currency with correct formatting, respects each currency’s decimal rules, and is legible from across a room if you want to make a point on a projector.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How is my live salary calculated?
Your per-second rate is your monthly salary divided by the total number of seconds in the current calendar month — every day counts, working or not. "Earned this month" is that rate times the seconds elapsed so far this month. On the 15th of a 30-day month at midnight you would see about 46.7% of your salary (14 of 30 days complete); halfway through the 16th you cross 50%.
How does "earned this year" work?
Each fully completed month counts as one full monthly salary, and the current month adds its elapsed fraction on top. That means the yearly number ticks up at exactly the same per-second rate as the monthly one, and reaches 12× your monthly salary at midnight on New Year's Eve.
Does it account for weekends, holidays or working hours?
Deliberately not. Salary is paid for the month, not for the hours, so the clock spreads it evenly over every second of the month. That is also what makes it fun: you are earning while you sleep.
What is the clock in / clock out counter for?
It is a stopwatch priced at your per-second rate. Clock in when you start something — a meeting, a lunch break, a long compile — and watch what that time was worth. You can pause and reset it; the month and year counters can never be reset, because time only moves one way.
Is my salary stored anywhere?
Only in your own browser (localStorage), so the page remembers your inputs between visits. Nothing is uploaded — there is no backend, no account, and analytics are anonymous and cookieless.
