THE SHORT VERSION
Yardstick Tools runs entirely in your browser. There are no accounts, no cookies, and no forms. The numbers you type — hourly rates, salaries, revenue — are stored only on your own device and are never transmitted to us or anyone else. The only thing we collect is anonymous, aggregated usage statistics.
WHO WE ARE
Yardstick Tools (yardstick.tools) is operated by Pilot Projects (pilotprojects.dev). You can reach us via the contact details on that site.
WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT
We do not collect names, email addresses, or any account information — none of our tools have sign-up. The values you enter into a tool (for example a meeting rate, a monthly salary, or an annual revenue figure) are saved in your browser’s localStorage so the page remembers them between visits. That storage lives on your device, under your control, and is never uploaded. You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for yardstick.tools.
ANALYTICS
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service, to understand aggregate usage: page views, and product events such as “a timer was started” or “a result was shared.” These events never include the raw values you entered — where an event carries an amount at all, it is a coarse bucket (such as “between 100 and 500”), never your actual number.
Plausible does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not track you across websites or days. Its measurement script is served from our own domain. For details, see Plausible’s data policy at plausible.io/data-policy.
COOKIES
We set none. That is why there is no cookie banner.
SPONSORS AND OUTBOUND LINKS
Pages may display a single clearly-labelled sponsor slot and links to third-party sites (for example social networks when you choose to share). If you follow an outbound link, the destination site’s own privacy practices apply. We count sponsor impressions and clicks in the same anonymous, aggregated way as everything else.
CHANGES
If we change this policy, we will update it here with a new effective date. Since we collect so little, changes are likely to be rare and boring.
