HOW THE REVENUE CLOCK WORKS
Enter your company’s annual revenue or profit, flip the toggle to match, pick a currency, and three counters run live: what the company has earned this year, what it has earned this month, and a start/stop counter that prices any stretch of time — a standup, a sales call, a coffee run — at your company’s per-second rate. The rate is simply your annual number divided by the seconds in the current year, computed from the real clock to the second.
WHY FOUNDERS WATCH IT
An annual number on a board slide is an abstraction. A counter that moves while you look at it is not. At $1M a year your company earns about 3.2 cents a second — roughly $115 an hour, every hour, asleep or awake. Watching it tick recalibrates decisions in both directions: an hour-long all-hands suddenly has a visible price, and a slow Tuesday afternoon feels less bleak when the counter keeps moving anyway. Projected on a wall during a launch day or a sales push, it turns an abstract target into a number the whole team can watch climb.
AN ESTIMATE, ON PURPOSE
The clock spreads your annual figure evenly across the calendar — no seasonality, no business hours, no invoicing lag. That makes it a run-rate visualizer, not a finance tool: honest enough to be useful, simple enough to be instant. Your numbers stay in your browser — no account, no backend, nothing uploaded — with every ISO 4217 currency formatted correctly.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How is the live revenue calculated?
One rate drives everything: your annual revenue (or profit) divided by the total number of seconds in the current calendar year. "Earned this year" is that rate times the seconds elapsed since January 1. "Earned this month" is the same rate times the seconds elapsed since the 1st — so a 31-day January accrues a little more than a 28-day February, and the month and year counters always tick in perfect lockstep.
Should I enter revenue or profit?
Whichever number you want to watch — the toggle just changes the wording. Founders who want the dopamine pick revenue; founders who want the truth pick profit. You can flip between them at any time; the math is identical.
What is the start/stop counter for?
It is a stopwatch priced at your company's per-second rate. Press start when a meeting begins, a deploy runs, or a lunch break starts, and see what the company earned in that window. Pause and reset as you like — the year and month counters, on the other hand, can never be reset. Time is undefeated.
Does it account for seasonality or business hours?
No — it spreads your annual number evenly over every second of the year, weekends and 3am included. It is a visceral estimate, not accounting. If your business is highly seasonal, think of it as your run-rate ticking rather than actual bookings.
Is my revenue number stored anywhere?
Only in your own browser (localStorage), so your inputs are remembered between visits. Nothing is uploaded — no backend, no account, and analytics are anonymous and cookieless. Your numbers are between you and this page.
